Optical, Environmental Testing of Ferrolder® Unveiled in Joint Poster with Verizon
Next Generation Fiber Optic Connector from nanoPrecision Products Shown to Outperform Industry Standard at OFC 2016
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – March 24, 2016 – nanoPrecision Products has unveiled third-party optical and environmental testing data that show its next generation fiber optic connector, called the Ferrolder, over-performs traditional ceramic SC style ferrules and connectors and qualifies for a Single Optical Connector SC-UPC Kit by Verizon. The data, derived from independent testing, design verification and qualification laboratory Experior Laboratories, was presented today at OFC 2016 in a joint poster session with Verizon titled “Optical and Environmental Performance of an Epoxy-less, Metallic, Single-mode SC UPC Ferrolder® Based Connector.”
The Ferrolder is a breakthrough fiber optic connector with a novel design that combines the ferrule connector and holder in one. Constructed from titanium without the use of epoxy, the new component eliminates the single largest cause of connector failure while also dramatically lowering costs.
